Innovation and creativity often take a back seat in public services.
At Capacity, they believe they’re at the heart of public service transformation - making a real difference to the lives of people in Liverpool City Region and Cheshire in the years ahead.
Against a backdrop of cuts and rising demand, public and third sector leaders across Liverpool City Region and Cheshire are starting to do things differently and rethinking public services.
By providing the know-how, big-picture thinking, and hands-on doing, Capacity is working with organisations from across the region, including local authorities, health boards and health trusts – making public services people services.
Social enterprises have a huge part to play, delivering services in some of the most challenging areas, offering support that acts as early intervention as well as providing a viable alternative to profit-motivated providers, so that public money is recycled to make real, long-term change in local communities.
At Capacity they're committed to developing social enterprises and charities - organisations that thrive, not just survive. Their work ranges from incubating new ventures such as Juno (https://www.wearejuno.org/) to supporting and accelerating existing organisations.
Funding from Postcode Innovation Trust, thanks to players of People's Postcode Lottery, is helping them to provide transformational and bespoke support for great organisations and passionate people working in mental health, family support and service useability. Whether it’s building stronger finances, getting governance right, growing connectivity with the public sector or scaling work and projects already having a positive impact.
They're making great ideas more than just possibilities.
