Cyrenians

For nearly 50 years, Cyrenians has served those on the edge, working with the homeless and vulnerable to transform their lives by beginning with their story, helping them believe that they can change their lives, and walking with them as they lead their own transformation. Their vision is an inclusive society in which everyone has the opportunities to live valued and fulfilled lives.

Investment supported the development of two new social enterprises within Cyrenians:

  1.  Enterprise Training Service

Funds were used to support the development of a fee-earning conflict resolution training service. Cyrenians have developed significant internal capacity in the area of conflict resolution, mediation and early intervention work through the Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution (www.scottishconflictresolution.org.uk).The Enterprise Training Service will offer off-the-shelf and bespoke courses in conflict resolution e.g. workplace conflict resolution skills, conflict de-escalation techniques and dealing with difficult people and situations.

  2.  Arnotdale House

Cyrenians also used investment to transform Arnotdale House in Falkirk into a new base for Cyrenians, also creating a social enterprise that offers a café, events/meeting/party spaces and office accommodation. The new social enterprise will generate income to provide sustainability while also delivering work experience and volunteering opportunities. The renovated building will also provide expanded office space for the employability work and peer mentoring offered by Cyrenians.
