Fashion Enter Ltd

Fashion Enter’s mission is to pioneer sustainable, compliant, and ethical UK garment manufacturing and to create a circular fashion model that embraces technology and eliminates waste whilst fostering creativity.

This circular fashion model needs skills, and through education, Fashion Enter’s mission is to provide training in technical skills in garment making to those who may not have easy access to further education and those classed as furthest from the labour market.

Fashion Enter aim to do good for people in the local community and create opportunity through sustainable fashion and technology, making these new Fashion models accessible to all.

Fashion Enter is an award winning not for profit social enterprise. Their factories have a leading status in the Fast Forward audit, the only company in the UK with this benchmark of excellence.

Today Fashion Enter employs almost 150 people. It has sites in Haringey, Islington, Leicester and Powys in Wales providing both centres of excellence in garment manufacturing and a training academy leading in technical fashion skills and qualifications from level 1 to 5 in traditional areas such as stitching and pattern making.

Funding from Postcode Innovation Trust, thanks to players of People's Postcode Lottery, was used to create a centre of excellence for a Circular Fashion Factory of the Future. Investment was spent on a remodel and refit of their factory, including new machinery, to bring together different sustainable fashion concepts and enable them to repair, recycle and reprocess garments.

Funding was also used to provide training and qualifications to upskill existing staff in repair and sustainable practices; safeguarding jobs for those that have previously been employed in more traditional garment making. They will additionally create new jobs for people in two areas: repair, repurpose and sorting, and digital design and printing.

The repurposing of their garment factory that investment will enable will allow it to be properly equipped for repair, recycle and reprocessing. This will require a new layout, electrics, equipment and machinery to make it multi garment ready.
