Green Hive

Green Hive is an award-winning community-led charity delivering real social, economic and environmental improvement to the town of Nairn and wider Nairnshire.

All of Green Hive’s activities are created and delivered by Nairn residents, for the benefit of the local community and natural environment.

Founded in 2015 as Nairn River Enterprise, their environmental activities and volunteer community became known as Green Hive. Since their formation Green Hive has coordinated a number of environmental volunteering projects and public events, such as the SEPA-registered community leaf mulching project, Nairn Viewfield community orchard, litter picks, Bumblebags fabric up- cycling project, Picnic in the Park and National Apple Day events at the orchard. In 2022 they were shortlisted as a finalist in the Scottish Charity Awards.

Funding from Postcode Innovation Trust, thanks to players of People's Postcode lottery, was awarded to support business development and team expansion for their enterprise trading activities, to help reduce reliance on grant funding.
