NEMI-Teas is a London-based social enterprise that started its operations in March 2016 with the aim of providing work experience to refugees to help them break into the UK workforce. To date, NEMI-Teas have sold over 7 million teabags and have employed 20 refugees within their business giving them experience in different fields such as manufacturing, sales, marketing and distribution.
NEMI-Teas are now looking to launch their latest venture, Revive, under a newly constituted body, NEMI-Community C.I.C. which will be their first fixed establishment where they will sell teas and coffee to customers whilst giving refugees full-time employment & work experience
Funding from Postcode Innovation Trust will support Nemi-Community to invest in setting up the initial café and then scaling their business model. The initial site of the first retail outlet is scheduled to be in Camden in London. Most of the 14 planned sites will then be within London. They will hire two refugees on a full-time basis per site. Over the next 5 years Nemi-Community intend to grow the business across 14 sites cumulatively supporting 252 refugees directly.
